Meet Sara, she’s thought to be about 20 years old and lives in Dorcol, an old residential area in central Belgrade. We know she is over 20 as the local residents have known her that long. Although Sara is a stray she is well looked after by the local people who feed her and brush her. I first met Sara when staying  in Spirit Hostel in 2010, she was there sitting outside on the street every morning and evening near to the hostel and became quite a welcome sight.

Returning to Belgrade the following year, I again stayed in Spirit hostel, in Dorcol – and look who was there…

Sara was waiting, although apparently she has stopped barking, indicating maybe she’s going deaf…she still was a very welcoming sight!

This dog we met on the way back from the Nikola Tesla museum – he was natural in front of the camera, so handsome!
